SMS service provider Sparrow SMS has implemented strict controls in its SMS system to fully comply with the 48-hour election silence period mandated by the Election Commission.
As per the company claims, to ensure a fair, clean, and disciplined election environment, Sparrow SMS has deployed a Keyword Block System.
This system automatically identifies and blocks any messages related to political parties, candidates, or election campaigns, ensuring that no political promotional SMSis sent during the silence period.

Safeguarding the democratic process is our duty, and preventing potential misuse of digital channels during the silence period is our top priority.”
During this period, only political promotional messages will be blocked. All other SMS services, including bulk messages, OTPs, banking alerts, and commercial marketing messages, will continue to operate as usual.
