Ncell has announced its strategic collaboration with the Nepal Association of Travel Operators (NATO), aimed at enhancing mobile connectivity for international tourists during their stay in Nepal.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to this effect was signed by Upanga Dutta, Chief Consumer Business Officer, Ncell, and Bishwesh Shrestha, President of NATO, amidst a programme organised on Thursday at the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB).
The collaboration aims to help tourists stay connected with their family and friends back home throughout their journey, addressing a key need of communications while travelling different parts of Nepal. Under the partnership, Ncell will provide mobile connectivity to help tourists, while NATO will leverage its extensive network of travel operators to facilitate awareness of Ncell’s connectivity services among international travellers.
Addressing the event, Dutta said, “Leveraging Ncell’s extensive network across the country and NATO’s diverse reach in the tourism sector, this partnership aims to make reliable connectivity a seamless part of the travel experience for tourists in Nepal. This is not all; the partnership will also play a key role in promoting the #NepalCalling campaign, further positioning Nepal as a hub tourist destination.”

Beyond connectivity, Ncell, under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative through Ncell Foundation will support NATO in establishing modern WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) infrastructure along major highway routes, starting with a pilot project in Gajuri, Dhading.
The initiative addresses the growing need for adequate sanitation facilities for both tourists and local communities travelling along these corridors, reflecting the two organisations’ shared commitment to sustainable and responsible tourism development in Nepal.
