Nepal–EU Tech Forum 2026 to spotlight digital innovation and investment opportunities

काठमाडौं ।

As Europe accelerates its focus on digital sovereignty, artificial intelligence, and secure innovation ecosystems, Nepal is positioning itself as an emerging partner in the global digital economy.

In this context, the Embassy of Nepal in Brussels, in collaboration with Genese Solution, will convene the Nepal–EU Tech Forum 2026 on Monday, 27 April 2026, at the European Institute for Asian Studies (EIAS), Brussels.

The Forum is designed to position Nepal as a credible and scalable technology and talent partner for Europe, while fostering structured dialogue among policymakers, investors, startups, and technology leaders. It aims to catalyze cross-border investment, research collaboration, and innovation partnerships between Nepal and the European digital ecosystem.

Set against the backdrop of Europe’s growing demand for trusted technology partners and skilled digital talent, the Forum will convene over 100 senior leaders from Nepal, Belgium, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, France, Germany, Luxembourg, and across the European region.

Participants will include representatives from government and policy institutions, corporate and technology sectors, investment and innovation ecosystems, as well as diaspora and academic communities.

The programme will open with an inaugural address by H.E. Mrs. Sewa Lamsal, Ambassador of Nepal to the European Union, setting the strategic context for Nepal–EU cooperation. This will be followed by a special address from Alvis Ancans, International Relations Officer at the European Commission (DG CONNECT).

A keynote session on “Nepal’s Digital Ecosystem: Talent, Innovation & Partnership Opportunities” will be delivered by Mr. Anjani Phuyal, CEO of Genese Solution.

Two high-level panel discussions will explore priority themes including foreign direct investment (FDI), startup ecosystems, sustainable digital growth, diaspora engagement, talent mobility, and cross-border innovation. The Forum will also provide dedicated networking opportunities through a curated networking lunch and closing reception.

While not structured as a transactional platform, the Forum is expected to generate meaningful strategic outcomes, including the identification of investable opportunities, facilitation of business and institutional partnerships, development of diaspora-led engagement frameworks, and the establishment of structured follow-up mechanisms to support sustained Nepal–EU collaboration.

The event is hosted by the Embassy of Nepal in Belgium, with Genese Solution serving as the strategic organizer.

Mr. Anjani Phuyal, CEO of Genese Solution, stated, “The Nepal–EU Tech Forum 2026 is designed to serve as a long-term bridge between Nepal’s growing digital ecosystem and Europe’s innovation and investment networks. Beyond the immediate convening, we expect the Forum to contribute to sustained institutional engagement, clearer collaboration pathways, and stronger diaspora-enabled innovation linkages.”

Mrs. Sewa Lamsal, Ambassador of Nepal to the European Union, added, “Nepal’s newly elected government has placed strong emphasis on harnessing the talent of Nepali youth in digital innovation and positioning Nepal as an emerging technology hub. The Nepal–EU Tech Forum reinforces the role of the Nepali diaspora as a vital connector between European institutions and Nepal’s innovation ecosystem supporting mentorship, investment, and long-term collaboration.”

The Forum is expected to further enhance Nepal’s visibility as a credible digital partner and lay the foundation for ongoing engagement between Nepali startups and technology companies and European investors, accelerators, and corporate innovation teams.
