Nepal’s National Robotics teams depart for Geneva

Nepal’s National Robotics teams have departed for Geneva Switzerland, where they will represent Nepal at the prestigious AI for Good – Robotics for Good Youth Challenge 2026 International Final, organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) under the United Nations AI for Good initiative.

Team Nepal – Junior and Senior is powered by Ncell with ACA-MIT College and United School as Education Partner.

The international competition will be held from 7–11 July 2026 at Palexpo, Geneva, bringing together the world’s brightest young innovators to design, build and program autonomous robots capable of solving real-world challenges in food security and precision agriculture.

Nepal will compete in both the Junior and Senior categories against leading teams from around the world.

Nepal enters this year’s competition with remarkable momentum after achieving outstanding success on the international stage.
During the AI for Good Robotics for Good Youth Challenge 2025, Team Nepal secured Silver Medal (2nd Place) in the Junior Category among teams from more than 40 countries and Bronze Medal (3rd Place) in the Senior Category.

Beyond AI for Good, Nepal has continued to demonstrate excellence internationally through the Robotics Association of Nepal’s efforts, including FIRST Global Challenge 2022 – Safety Award, FIRST Global Challenge 2023 – Social Media Award, FIRST Global Challenge 2025 – Ranked 38th among 192 countries, Second Belt and Road International Skills Competition 2024, Gold Medal – UAV Operation & Maintenance and Silver Medal – IoT Technology.

As per the organizers, these achievements reflect Nepal’s growing leadership in robotics, artificial intelligence, innovation and STEM education while showcasing the immense talent of Nepalese youth on the global stage.

The students were selected through a rigorous national selection process consisting of national robotics competitions followed by interviews conducted by the Robotics Association of Nepal.

The final delegation representing Robotics Association of Nepal also includes technical mentors Er. Subash Shrestha, R&D Head, Santosh Thapa Magar, Ujjwal Education Coordinator and Kunal Shah, Treasurer for the team management supporting and coordinating the teams throughout the international competition.

As per the organization, the AI for Good Robotics for Good Youth Challenge is more than a robotics competition—it is a global platform where young innovators develop technological solutions that address real-world challenges aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

By representing Nepal internationally, Team Nepal demonstrates that Nepalese students possess the creativity, technical capability and determination to compete alongside the world’s leading young roboticists.

The Robotics Association of Nepal clarifies that it remains committed to creating opportunities for Nepalese youth through robotics, artificial intelligence and emerging technologies, ensuring that Nepal continues to strengthen its presence in global innovation.
