In the first 8 months of the current financial year (FY) 2079/80, electric cars worth 6 billion 168 million 71 thousand rupees have been imported into Nepal.
According to the data of the Department of Customs, 2 thousand 19 units of electric cars equal to that amount have entered Nepal.
From the import of electric cars, the government has received a revenue of 1 billion 73 crore 89 lakh 63 thousand rupees.
Last Magh, 2 thousand 9 units of electric cars worth 5 billion 62 crore 99 lakh 83 thousand rupees were imported.
In month of Falgun, 189 units of electric cars worth 538.2 million 88 thousand rupees entered Nepal.
According to the data of the Department of Customs, electric cars are imported into Nepal from 5 countries: America, China, India, South Korea and Indonesia.
Most electric cars seem to come from India. Where, 1,571 units of electric cars worth 4 billion 25 crore 58 lakh 76 thousand rupees have been imported from India.
368 units of electric cars have been imported from China worth Rs. 907.572 thousand.
3 units of electric car worth 64 lakh 6 thousand rupees have arrived from Indonesia.
252 units of electric cars worth 975.6 million 39 thousand rupees have arrived from South Korea.
According to the data of the Department, 4 units of electric cars worth 27 million 78 thousand rupees have arrived in Nepal from America.
