A delegation led by the World Bank (WB) Country Director for Nepal, David Sislen, paid a courtesy visit to Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Dr Bikram Timilsina at his office today.
The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology stated that in the meeting also attended by officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, discussions were held on the ‘Nepal Digital Transformation Project’ to be implemented with the support of the World Bank, focusing on expanding access for the development of the country’s information technology sector, data management, digital transformation, and governance reforms.
On the occasion, Minister Timilsina expressed gratitude for the continuous support provided by the World Bank for Nepal’s socio-economic development and stated that the Nepal Digital Transformation Project would be implemented at a rapid pace.
Noting that result-oriented works in infrastructure development and civic service delivery has already begun after the formation of the new government, he stated that the government is focused on resolving project issues in a different way than in the past.
He also mentioned that the progress of projects implemented in collaboration with the World Bank will be visible soon. RSS
