Yango Ride, part of the global technology company Yango Group, today announced the launch of a comprehensive in-ride insurance program at no additional cost for its partner drivers and passengers in Nepal, reinforcing the company’s commitment to safer urban mobility. The insurance option is automatically included in every order booked through the Yango app starting from March 3.
The in-ride insurance coverage up to NPR 1,000,000 is provided by United Ajod Insurance Limited with coordination support from Khalti Suraksha.
As per the company claims, Coverage begins immediately once a trip in Yango Ride is accepted for partner drivers and and from pickup to drop completion for passengers. In addition, the programme is active not only for partner drivers, but also for couriers while completing delivery orders via the platform.
In the event of an accident, claims can be submitted to United Ajod Insurance Limited within 30 days with required documents such as medical reports, bills, and police reports for road accidents. Once verified, claims are typically processed and paid within approximately 15 working days.
“At Yango, the safety and well-being of our partner drivers, couriers and passengers remains our top priority,” said Santosh Pandey, Country Manager at Yango Ride in Nepal. “By introducing free in-ride insurance, we are providing another layer of protection that allows everyone to travel with higher confidence and peace of mind.”
This initiative is launched at no extra cost to users or partner drivers and couriers, ensuring that all users benefit from enhanced protection without any financial impact.
The launch of the in-ride insurance program comes amid a rapidly growing ride-hailing market in Nepal, where safety and reliability are increasing priorities for customers and drivers alike. By offering comprehensive insurance coverage as part of its service, Yango Ride is strengthening its role as a trusted mobility provider within Nepal’s transportation ecosystem.
