काठमाडौं ।
NavaNexa Tech officially launched NChat, Nepal’s first communication-first super app, at a public event held at KMC College, Kathmandu. It is available for download on both iOS and Android, enabling users in Nepal and abroad to access the platform immediately.
As per the company claims, developed in Nepal through nearly 11 months of dedicated product development, NChat is designed around the CPS model—Communication, Payments, and Services.
The app enables users to communicate through messaging, voice and video calls, voice notes, and real-time translation. From those conversations, users can seamlessly make payments, book services, shop, and take action within the app—transforming communication into real-world convenience.
“NChat is built for Nepal’s realities—simple to use, fast, and designed to bring multiple daily needs into one trusted platform,” said Dhiren Hamal, Founder and CEO of NavaNexa Tech.
Inclusive and Accessible for All Users
NChat is designed to be inclusive and accessible across age groups, including senior citizens and users who may face challenges with typing or reading. The platform offers real-time English-to-Nepali translation, with plans to expand into additional local languages.
The app also includes text-to-audio functionality for users who prefer listening over reading, as well as voice-to-text, allowing spoken words to be converted into written text and translated between Nepali and English.
Mini Apps and Business Digitalization
A key feature of NChat is its in-app App Store and mini-app ecosystem, which allows startups and local businesses to create simple web pages or mini apps in minutes—without coding. Using a drag-and-drop interface, business owners can showcase products, communicate directly with customers, and receive orders efficiently.
“NChat empowers entrepreneurs to go online quickly and connect directly with their customers,” said Charles Shahi, Chief Technology Officer (CTO), NavaNexa Tech.
Intergenerational representation at the launch
One of the most symbolic moments of the launch ceremony was the joint inauguration by representatives from five generations—
Baby Boomers (1946–1964), Generation X (1965–1981), Generation Y / Millennials (1981–1996), Generation Z (1997–2012), and Generation Alpha (2013–2025).
This intergenerational inauguration reflected NChat’s core vision: to be a simple, inclusive, and user-friendly digital platform for all generations. By involving representatives from every age group, the launch demonstrated that NChat is not limited to a specific demographic but is built to connect families, communities, businesses, and future generations on a single trusted platform.
The moment symbolized NChat’s strong commitment to digital inclusion, ensuring that technology in Nepal evolves in a way that is accessible, understandable, and beneficial for everyone—from senior citizens to young digital natives.
