Seminar on Driving Digital Transformation with Cloud Migration & Cyber Resilience for BFIs

Leaders of Nepal’s financial services industry converged in the Nepali capital on Sunday (17th August) to assess Nepal’s journey towards digital modernization.

Over one hundred CEOs, CISOs, and CTOs from banks, finance, insurance, and capital markets gathered under one roof to share their insights in the seminar organised by Genese Solution, a UK-based value IT consulting and cybersecurity company.

The seminar entitled “Secure the Shift | Driving Digital Transformation with Cloud Migration & Cyber Resilience for BFIs” brought together banking and financial leaders, technology experts, and regulators to explore the future of digital transformation in the financial sector.

Addressing the event as a chief guest, CEO of Investment Board of Nepal, Sushil Gyewali, said that the government of Nepal was implementing the ‘Digital Nepal’ framework policy. He said the Investment Board would lead no stone unturned to facilitate foreign investment into the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector in Nepal.

Addressing the event, CEO of Genese Solution, Anjani Phuyal, said that cloud adoption was no longer optional.

“ Cyber resilience is a culture, not just a compliance checklist. For us at Genese, this isn’t just about showcasing solutions. Digital trust is the new currency of growth,” he added.

The event included insightful sessions, panel discussions, and networking opportunities focusing on cloud migration, cyber resilience, customer engagement, and regulatory perspectives.

In his opening remarks, Bishnu Subedi highlighted about event objectives and welcomed all the distinguished participants.
Making a presentation on Customer Communication in the GenAI Era, Mr. Kailash Badu of Genese Solution spoke about personalization and automation in BFSI with GUMP use cases.

Global CTO and CISO of Genese, Niranjan Kunwar and Ms. Sampanna Shrestha made a presentation on ISO 27001 best practices and lessons for Banking and Financial Services Institutes (BFSI) of Nepal.

In Leadership Q&A: Driving Secure Digital Evolution session, Anjani Phuyal, Bishnu Subedi, Kailash Badu, Sampanna Shrestha discussed on modernization, security and customer trust.

Anjani Phuyal also made a presentation on the theme Accelerating BFSI Modernization with Cloud. He discussed strategies for modernization, compliance, and sustainable growth
From the Regulator’s Perspective, Mr. Kiran Pandit of Nepal Rastra Bankspoke about the central Bank’s policy and oversight in digital transformation.

Sushil Gyewali said, “Digital transformation in BFSI is no longer a choice—it is a necessity. This event provided a platform for leaders to exchange knowledge, address challenges, and explore secure and innovative pathways for modernization,” said Mr Phuyal, a global digital transformation expert.
