Jyoti Bikash Bank Achieves ISO 27001:2022 Certification

काठमाडौं ।

Jyoti Bikash Bank Ltd, a leading national-level development bank, has officially attained the prestigious ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification, the internationally recognized standard for information security management systems (ISMS).

As per the company, this milestone underscores the bank’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding data, strengthening operational resilience, and delivering trust-driven digital banking services.

The certification validates that JBBL’s ISMS complies with global standards, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information for both customers and internal operations.

“This achievement reflects months of rigorous effort, deep collaboration, and unwavering dedication from everyone involved,” said Sampanna Shrestha, Cybersecurity Consultant at Genese Solution, who led the certification initiative. “We’ve made remarkable progress—from refining internal processes to implementing best-in-class security controls.”

Shrestha extended her appreciation to the bank’s leadership team, including CEO Kapil Dhakal and Chief Risk Officer Roshan Thapa, for their strategic direction and support throughout the process.

“A special thanks to Genese Solution for trusting me to lead this initiative, and to my ever-supportive manager, Niranjan Kunwar, our Global CTO and CISO, for his constant guidance and encouragement throughout this journey,” Shrestha added.

The transformation was delivered in partnership with Genese Solution, a leading IT consulting and cybersecurity firm that guided the implementation and ensured compliance with ISO standards.

“We are proud to have walked alongside Jyoti Bikash Bank in achieving this significant milestone,” said Anjani Phuyal, CEO of Genese Solution. “This certification not only reflects compliance, it also builds a foundation for long-term cyber resilience. Incredible teamwork and commitment all around.”

Diwas Manandhar, a member of the transformation team, echoed the sentiment, “It’s been a true pleasure collaborating with the JBBL and Genese teams to realize this goal. The collective dedication and synergy were key to this success.”

Established 17 years ago, Jyoti Bikash Bank Ltd operates under a “Kha” class license from Nepal Rastra Bank and offers a comprehensive range of financial services across Nepal serving individuals, SMEs, and corporate clients alike. The bank continues to play a pivotal role in supporting the country’s journey toward inclusive economic growth.

“This certification assures our customers and stakeholders that their data is protected by internationally recognized security practices,” said Kapil Dhakal, CEO of Jyoti Bikash Bank. “We will continue investing in digital trust and operational excellence.”
