Code For Change Nepal has announced an extended registration deadline and significant updates to the structure of its highly anticipated Codefest 2024. Originally set to close registration on September 17, the deadline has now been extended to November 10, 2024, encouraging broader student participation and offering additional benefits to the 171 teams already registered.
The registration fee for each team is set at NPR 5,000. To promote participation from colleges, a special incentive is being offered: if three teams register from the same college, only two teams need to pay the fee, and the third team’s registration will be free.
Updated event schedule and key changes
- Information Flow (September 22 – October 2, 2024)
During this phase, details about the updated event format will be shared across various platforms, including social media, news outlets, and emails. This will ensure that all potential participants are well-informed about the new structure and the extended registration period.
- Festive Campaign (October 3 – November 10, 2024)
Registered teams will gain access to exclusive sessions led by industry experts. These sessions will cover essential topics such as brainstorming, web/app development, UX/UI design, business development, and cybersecurity. Additionally, giveaway campaigns will be held to keep participants motivated throughout the campaign.
- Ideathon (November 17 – November 24, 2024)
Provincial Ideathons will be held to select the top teams for the grand finale. Two teams will be chosen from each province, while Province 3 will send nine teams to the final competition.
- Vote Appeal & College Visits (November 25 – December 10, 2024)
Provincial Ideathon winners will be encouraged to visit local colleges to present their ideas and request votes from students, professors, and the public. The team that garners the most votes will receive the People’s Choice Award at the grand finale.
- Grand Finale (December 13-15, 2024)
The event will culminate in a grand finale, where finalists will compete for a prize pool of 7 lakhs, along with exciting gadgets and gift hampers.
